Week 1 in Revew
What a great start to the school year! Daily, I am reminded of how fortunate I am to work with such skilled, dedicated, and flexible people. I made it around to a few classrooms. (not as many as I would have liked!) I saw several "I Can" statements posted on boards. Many students were able to articulate what they were learning and how the task they were engaged in related to the learning target or "I Can." In one social studies classroom, students were actively engaged in groups, working together to categorize events based on their prior knowledge. They were asking questions of one another and sharing their thinking. Students in a math class were also arranged in small groups, using a fun activity like "penny stacking" to learn more about dot plots. I observed one teacher leading her class through the development of a social contract and I saw many teachers greeting students with a smile and/or a handshake at the door. Thank you again for all of your hard work! Have a wonderful weekend. Hope to see everyone at the football game. GO LYNX!
